Engineers Australia has overseas chapters in Asia, the Middle East and the UK. Members are a mix of Australian expatriates and engineering graduates who have studied an Australian, or equivalent, engineering qualification.
Our overseas chapters meet regularly and offer networking opportunities, continuous professional development (CPD) events and mentoring. Overseas chapters also assist engineers overseas to gain internationally-recognised credentials such Chartered and EngExec.
The Hong Kong chapter was established in 2002. Its purpose is to provide a platform for Hong Kong-based members of EA to share experiences and knowledge through seminars, technical talks, social functions and technical visits. There are currently more than 1000 members in Hong Kong.

Recognition by Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Environment
In 2016, Engineers Australia’s Chartered status was officially recognised by Qatar’s Ministry of Municipality and Environment. Chartered members of Engineers Australia applying to be a registered engineer in Qatar can be exempted from the Ministry’s assessment process, which usually involves an examination. The Singapore chapter was created in 1993 to foster contact between members living in Singapore through regular networking events.
