Micro-credentials

Showcase your professional ability with a micro-credential.

Engineers Australia’s micro-credentials are a demonstration of a specific competency or skill.

They've been developed in collaboration with industry and are designed to measure and assess your results in the workplace. Each micro-credential is aligned to industry standards of practice or to a recognised framework.

The range covers professional skills that are relevant for all engineers including communication, risk management and ethical practice plus sector-specific skills.

As an engineering professional, earning and displaying an Engineers Australia micro-credential is a way to showcase your professional ability to prospective employers and clients. For managers, micro-credentials help build targeted skills for your team and provide verification that they can successfully and independently apply these to their work.

Pathways

There are three online pathways available for each micro-credential. Which one is right for you will depend on your level of skill, knowledge and experience in that area.

Depending on your pathway, you’ll complete a short course of study or progress directly to preparing an assessment submission which showcases the work you do.

How you will be assessed

Each micro-credential has a set of criteria aligned to the relevant, industry-recognised standard of practice or framework.

To earn a micro-credential, you need to demonstrate how the work you do meets these criteria.

You'll need to provide:

  • workplace examples and evidence to support them
  • a written explanation of the evidence and how it relates to the criteria
  • a video interview.

On successful completion of the assessment, you’ll receive a digital badge to verify and showcase your achievement.
